Championship: Syracuse Express Puts the Kibosh on Liberty City Outlaws

Syracuse Express got the sixth-highest point total in the league to date and beat Liberty City Outlaws 152.98 to 125.19. This win makes it three in a row for Syracuse Express versus Liberty City Outlaws, including a 127.25 to 88.77 shellacking in Week 11, the last time they met. Liberty City Outlaws wrapped up the regular season in third place with a record of 9-5. From a points per game perspective, they ranked slightly better (second with 120.16). In their only other postseason game of the season, Liberty City Outlaws bulldozed Hulk Smash, 179.90 to 79.67.

Smooth Moves by Syracuse Express

  • Even if you cried trying to win, you still won. And the Toyota Hall of Fame is proud of Syracuse Express either way.
  • Even NASA would be proud of this aerial performance. Jordy Nelson had 35.27 points, the highest WR score of the week and the fifth-highest WR score in the league this season.
  • Le’Veon Bell put up 30.20 points, which was the eighth-highest score in the league this week.
  • The San Diego Chargers Defense, which was picked up by Syracuse Express, scored 19.00 points against a projected 12.74, topping their projection by 49.1%.
  • Jordan Howard put the team on his back with 17.50 points, the 10th-highest score among RBs in the league this week.

Toyota Roster Tune-up

  • 152.98 seems a lot higher when you’re on the losing side of it. And the Toyota Hall of Fame knows you know that.
  • Liberty City Outlaws was not able to win even though only 4 of their 10 starters fell short of their projected point total.
  • With 16.06 points versus a projected 21.31, Drew Brees scored only 75.4% of his projected point total.
  • With 5.53 points, Brandin Cooks scored only 74.2% of his 7.45 projected point total.

Forte Shades of Jay got 29.67 points from Travis Kelce and 19.00 from the New England Patriots Defense to annihilate Georgia Bullies 109.72 to 71.13. Georgia Bullies now has three blowout losses on the season. Forte Shades of Jay gets revenge for their last matchup with Georgia Bullies (a Week 10 loss: 99.86 to 99.12), and their head-to-head record improves to 1-2. Adding insult to injury, Georgia Bullies got zero points from Theo Riddick.

  • The Toyota Hall of Fame would have its eyes on you for this week’s win. But the Toyota Hall of Fame doesn’t have eyes. Obviously.
  • Travis Kelce had 29.67 points, the highest TE score of the week and the second-highest TE score in the league this season.
  • With 19.00 points, the New England Patriots Defense was the highest-scoring DEF of the week.

  • Not going to name names, but some people here aren’t pulling their weight. Forget it, Andy Dalton needs to step it up! He scored 12.72 points against a projected 16.44 in the win, and has now scored below his projection in three straight games.
  • With the big loss, Georgia Bullies remains winless in blowout games this season, falling to 0-3.

  • A higher score than your opponent is a guaranteed way to win each week. Thank the Toyota Hall of Fame for that valuable insight.
  • Jay Ajayi does not believe in running back by committee. He had the best RB score of the week and the 10th-highest RB score in the league this season with 39.80 points.
  • With 31.80 points, Kirk Cousins ranked fifth in the league in scoring.
  • With 29.27 points, Sammy Watkins got the 10th-largest point total in the league and beat his projected points by 334.9%, which was the sixth-biggest percentage in the league.

  • Don’t worry, Rock Crushers, the Toyota Hall of Fame says losing isn’t contagious. But it is embarrassing. And you should be embarrassed.
  • Should have started Jerick McKinnon, who underachieved, but still had the most points of any RB on the team with 7.33 against a projected 7.96.
  • All that glitters is not gold. Picked up the Oakland Raiders Defense, which scored 6.00 points against their projected 11.02.
  • The RBs on Rock Crushers let them down, getting outgunned by the RBs on Hulk Smash 72.16 – 18.76.
  • 8 of the 10 starters scored less than their projected points.

  • If Hulk Smash played Rock Crushers every week, they’d be 10-6 this year.
  • Hulk Smash would’ve been undefeated if they played every team in the league this week.

Millennium Falcons picked up 23.20 points from Mark Ingram and 23.00 from Odell Beckham Jr. to beat NewEngland Deflators 107.12 to 95.69. Millennium Falcons wins their second matchup with NewEngland Deflators in as many games, and their head-to-head record improves to 2-1. Their last win was in Week 11 with a final score of 84.65 to 71.51. NewEngland Deflators finished the regular season in fifth place with a record of 7-7. They also ranked fifth in the league with 106.39 points per game. In their only other postseason game of the season, NewEngland Deflators drubbed Forte Shades of Jay, 133.38 to 73.52.

  • A heated blanket would be a great gift for Cole Beasley during this cold streak. He scored below his projection in five straight games after scoring 1.67 points against a projected 4.34 this week.
